       Radio Interference (RFI) Reduction Kits      RFIK-8 The M803 RFI kit is the first step in the process of reducing/eliminating ship-board Radio Frequency Interference caused by "Common-mode" signals from your SSB radio transmissions. The M803 RFI Kit consists of two genuine FairRite XLType-31 snap-on RF chokes (for installation on the OPC-1465, OPC-1147N Antenna Tuner control cable), one Line Isolation Balun (installs inline with the coax cable), a PL-258 double male UHF Coax Connector, and instructions.

Note: RFI Kits contain components required in a properly designed SSB radio system. Adding them to an existing installation should help reduce interference to other ship-board electronics when your SSB transmits. They are NOT, however, a substitute for proper SSB system design, neither are they a remedy for poorly functioning antenna and/or RF ground systems.

The SCS PTC-IIusb, PTC-IIPro and PTC-IIex come with cables; one end is not terminated (wires dangling), and the other end is terminated with the appropriate DIN connector for plugging into the modem. If you're good soldering small wires to small 8-pin & 13-pin DIN plugs and have the appropriate terminating connectors on hand (many radios come with a DIN connector for their accessory connection,  then you can save money by constructing your own interconnecting and control cables.

FairRite Type-31 HF RF Chokes

Genuine FairRite type 31 snap-on RF choke. Large size (¹/₄-inch center) for snapping on to the computer serial cable,  interconnecting cables & the 8083 control cable.

7210 A type-31 FairRite snap-on RF choke should be snapped on to each end of the 9090, 9095, 8081, 8083, 8086, 8120, 8130, etc., cables connecting the PTC modem to the SSB, and on each end of the USB/serial cable that connects the modem to the computer. Six 7200 Snap-on FairRites are required by  both the PTC-IIusb and PTC-IIPro, and four are needed for the PTC-IIex. Fits all modem interconnecting and frequency control cables.

Genuine FairRite type 31 snap-on RF choke. XL size (¹/₂-inch center) for snapping on to larger wires, antenna tuner control cable and "double wrapping/looping for more sever RFI conditions.

7212 An XL type-31 FairRite snap-on RF choke should be installed at each end of a OPC-566 and OPC-1147N tuner control cable, and at each end of any wires/cables suspected of picking up RF from a vessels SSB.

This 12-foot version of the 8083 Frequency Control Cable carries computer controlled frequency selection data between the P4 Dragon, PTC-II/IIIusb, or PTC-IIPro modems and the Icom M-802, or SGC 2000.
Note: Four Type-31 FairRite (part # 7210 ordered separately) must be put onto this cable (four FairRites total are required). A FairRite needs to be snapped-on at each cable end, and the remaining two FairRites spaced an equidistance along the cable length.

 

Frequency control cable for the ICOM M-700pro, M-710, and M-710RT 8086 This 1.5 meter long cable provides computer control capabilities by carrying frequency setting data between the P4 Dragon, PTC-II/IIIusb, or PTC-IIPro modems, and the Icom M700-series SSB's DB-9 "Remote" port.

Note: One large Type-31 FairRite (part # 7210 ordered separately) must be put on each end of this cable (two FairRites total are required)

For European SSB's

Icom European M710 GMDSS and M801/801e GMDSS Interconnecting cable.

Note: The 8190 cable does not fit the US Icom M710, nor M802.

8190 Cable has 8-Pin DIN connector on modem end, and a DB-9 connector on the radio end. Includes integral FairRites molded on both ends of the cable.  The 8190 cable supplies DC power & key interconnecting signals  between the radio and the P4 Dragon, PTC-II/IIIusb, PTC-IIPro, PTC-II, PTC-IIe, & PTC-IIex.

Note: Unlike other Icom HF radios, the M801 and M710 GMDSS do not supply power to the modem. The modem must be powered separately. Icom M-700Pro/710/710RT/802 radio to SCS PTC-IIUSB/IIPro/IIe/IIex interconnecting cable. Also fits all Icom HF Ham Transceivers with a an 8-pin DIN ACC-1 connector.

Note: Does not fit the Icom 706 Series, 718, 7000, and other transceivers with a 13-pin DIN ACC-1 connector. The 706 series, 718, & 7000, must use a 13-pin 9095 interconnecting cable.

9090 Fits almost all Icom Marine and HAM transceivers including the Icom M802, M700Pro/710/710RT, 725, 735,  and others. The 9090 cable supplies key interconnecting signals and +13.8VDC power between the radio and the P4 Dragon, PTC-II/IIIusb, PTC-IIPro, PTC-II, PTC-IIe, & PTC-IIex.

12-foot Audio/Power Cable

Twelve-foot version of the 9090 interconnecting cable (up to 25-feet), designed for the Icom
M-700/710/710RT/802.

9091 A 12-foot version of the 9090 cable above, the 9091 fits almost all Icom Marine and HAM transceivers including the Icom M-700Pro/710/802, 725, 735, and others. This cable supplies key interconnecting signals and +13.8VDC power between the radio and the P4 Dragon, PTC-II/IIIusb, PTC-IIPro, PTC-II, PTC-IIe, & PTC-IIex.

Note: Four Type-31 FairRite (part # 7210 ordered separately) must be put onto this cable (four FairRites total are required). A FairRite needs to be snapped on to each cable end, and the remaining two FairRites spaced equidistantly along the cable length.

Custom length version (25-feet max.) of the 9090 Interconnecting cable , designed for all Icom Marine

Packet Radio

VHF Packet Radio 300/1200 Cable

8120 Connects the Packet radio port on the SCS PTC-IIPro or SCS PTC-II to a VHF radio's 300/1200 packet port. The cable has a 5-pin DIN on the SCS PTC-II end, and a 6-pin mini-DIN on the radio end.

Packet Radio 9K6 Cable.

8050 Packet radio's 9.6K Baud cable. The cable has a 5-pin DIN on the SCS PTC-II end, and a 6-pin mini-DIN on the radio end.
